My Nooraya Story

When my daughter came into the world, everything was changing. I was in a season of transition — full of love, but also full of questions about who I was becoming and what I was being called toward.

So I returned to the Quran. Cover to cover, translation in hand.

And something shifted.

Noor — one of the names of the Quran itself — means light. My daughter's middle name is Aya. In that, I found my sign: return to the light. Nooraya was born from that return.

Nooraya is a faith-centered personal development community for Muslim women — where Qur'anic wisdom meets personal development to address the real challenges of modern life for Muslim women.

We're not here to add more to your plate. We're here to help you find your footing again. And in community.

Nooraya exists because I've lived both sides of this story — the burnout of achieving everything while feeling stretched thin, and the transformation that comes when you rebuild your sacred rhythms and reconnect to your divine design and purpose.

This sisterhood is the sanctuary I wish I'd had. A space where Muslim women can tend to their inner and outer worlds grounded in the Qur'an. A space to receive support and guidance, be surrounded by others on the same journey, and move through their days with the light they were created to carry.

About Nasreen Badat

Nasreen Badat is a transformation and leadership coach, Qur'an student, and the founder of Nooraya— a sanctuary for Muslim women seeking renewal, clarity, and connection.

With nearly two decades of experience in public service and advocacy, Nasreen bridges the worlds of faith and action. She guides Muslim women to rebuild what's been depleted — their peace, their energy, and the inner space they need to return to who Allah designed them to be.

Her work is rooted in the pursuit of As-Salam — the peace, steadiness, and clarity that come from a heart aligned with Allah. Her mission is to help Muslim women restore their peace and grow into the woman Allah designed her to be. All while becoming a living sign of Allah's mercy and light in the world.
